Gravy Studio - Curate Your Own Zine 2017
My friends at Gravy Studio are doing another zine event, and I'm thrilled to be involved! The concept is an open-call submission for photographs and writings themed around the 2016 election. In the spirit of Democracy, the work will be displayed on the wall, where guests can select images and curate their own photocopied zines.
Send us your photos and/or writing that evoke your feelings about what is going on in America today; issues you are worried about, photos from protests, things you see on the streets, experiences from traveling, portraits, places, events, etc. These are some great entries to give you ideas! Photography has helped a lot of us through hard times this past year. By sharing your photos with us in this zine, we can create a collective view on how we want America to be seen and heard.
At our opening reception on Saturday January 14th featuring photography by Jessica Kourkounis and Ryan Collerd, guests can curate their own zine by selecting up to 10 images and/or text to include in their own zine. Zines will be $10 and mailed within 2 weeks of order. Proceeds go to @aclupa. Thanks to Permanent Drift for collaborating with us again to make these custom zines and Jessie Jay of True Hand Society for designing the cover!
