John Waller (°1976, Edgartown, United States) is a photographer who works in combination with analog and digital techniques to produce artist’s books in small editions. Taking the everyday as subject matter, his photos are populated by familiar objects, commonplace landscapes, and ordinary people.

By imposing chance-based processes on geographical location, his work investigates the emotional effects of the built environment on individuals in a particularly subjective way. Rather than presenting a factual reality, Waller prefers to consider the coincidental, accidental and unexpected connections which emerge from these spontaneous explorations.

John currently lives and works in Holyoke, Massachusetts. He is the founder of Permanent Drift, an independent publisher of photography zines.
